I have spent most of my life moving across the UK (as my father was in the military) until 8 years ago when I met my now-husband. Since then, we have lived and worked in North Hertfordshire, until deciding to buy a house and settle in Great Ashby in 2014. As such, Great Ashby is the first place I have considered home in a very long while. I became a councillor to give back to Great Ashby, to help ensure it remains a pleasant and safe place to live and to further develop a sense of community here for all residents. As an accredited therapist, I have significant experience with active and empathetic listening, including with those who are experiencing high levels of distress. As someone with significant management experience, in both the public sector and in a Higher Education Institution, I have an understanding of how to manage and plan strategically. As an academic, I am expected to review all data objectively and without bias. These are the primary contributions I bring to the council, along with the related knowledge I have of healthcare and education. Outside of work, I enjoy entertaining, baking, and running.
