Ian Brown

I have lived locally for over 30 years and resided in Great Ashby for over 16 years. During this time, my family has experienced the benefits Great Ashby has to offer a growing family such as the district park, wealth of open countryside and woodland. Our three children were educated locally, and my wife is a teacher in Hertfordshire. I joined Great Ashby Community Council in May 2019 with the intention to help Great Ashby continue to grow its sense of community and to help maintain it as a pleasant and safe place to live. I have worked in Finance and IT which has helped develop my numerate and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail to resolve issues in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Communicating in an open and honest manner, together with the ability to talk and empathise has been key to the success of the roles I have held. When I get time, I enjoy gardening and cycling around the neighbourhood and surrounding countryside, meeting fellow residents along my way. Together with my councillor colleagues, I look forward to enhancing existing facilities and developing new projects for the benefit of the community.
